Two experimental regulations are in place on Bear Creek Reservoir. A 15-inch minimum length limit for largemouth bass and a 10 fish bag limit (with a 7-inch minimum from November-April) for bluegill are intended to help develop a quality bluegill fishery. Channel catfish, largemouth bass, bluegill and black crappie are currently present in this reservoir. Access to these waters are controlled by the Olmsted County Park Department. A small fee is charged to access the lake through Chester Woods Park, located on the north side of the reservoir.
