The Kalmar (K7) Reservoir The Kalmar Reservoir is a good example of how a township can handle a public water and open it to the fishing community. The Township board noticed that it was being fished by local anglers and decided to go the extra yard and built an off street parking lot to keep their rural roads safe. The result is another option for Rochester area anglers to fish for the abundant supply of pan fish found there. Perch, Crappie and sunfish are prevalent in this shallow (10 ft max depth) flood control reservoir. It is quite a hike from the lot to the water, then over the dam. This pond has been putting out good numbers of smaller Crappies and Sunfish, and will occasionally yield some larger perch. Remember, this is a small pond with limited fish populations, so please practice Catch and Release! Location: (Hit the hybrid button in the top right corner for street addresses)
