An Osakis Family Vacation The week of August 11th thru the 18th, I was fortunate enough to take my family on a week long furlough to the Linwood resort on Lake Osakis just south of Alexandria MN. Our Hosts Rafal & Theresa Zajac were very accommodating and responsive to all of our needs while we were there. The resort facilities were kept in good shape and I wouldn't have a problem recommending them to any family looking for a good summer vacation.
We were blessed with Fantastic summer weather for the whole week. The fishing for the middle of August was actually quite good. The Walleye bite was by no means hot, but we did manage to catch enough for a good family fish fry. Sunfish were the bulk of our catch. A lot of them were real bruisers! We also caught Jumbo perch, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth (My daughter Melissa got a 5 pounder!), Rock bass, Crappie and Bullhead.

Osakis is about 10 miles south of Alexandria MN. This area has many different lakes to explore along with numerous amusement parks, golf courses, and shopping centers. The sunsets over the Lake from this resort are nothing but breathtaking!
